Ravan Samhita is a unique description of the Ups and Downs
of the scriptural scholar, the knowledgeable of weapons “The Lankadhipati Ravan”
(The Emperor of Lanka now known as Sri Lanka).
The Book is a collection of some of the untouched aspects of
the life of Ravan who was a Shiva devotee, who posses ten hands, the
undefeatable, the king of demons, a great warrior, a Vedanta deity, the Emperor
of Lanka, ruler, rebellious of deities and sages, elusive, the supreme knower
of tantra and mantra, knowledgeable in the mystery of pharmacology.
Ravan was the son of Rishi (Sage) Vishrava, and grandson of
Sage Pulastya. His mother was the daughter of the king of demons Sumali. Ravan
was a great knower of the Scriptures. Despite knowing Lord Vishnu’s incarnation as “Rama avatar” he
opposed him. Ravan didn’t accept his mistakes even after knowing it because
of the compulsion of the clan in which he was born. Compromise with the Gods
was against the well-being and pride of that clan, whose victory campaign was
headed by him. He selected the path of destruction by himself because the great
warriors also get the pace of Sages.
