Mars in the first house
विलग्ने कुजे दण्डलोहाग्निभीति
स्तपेन्मानसं केसरी किं द्वितीयः ।
कलत्रादिघातः शिरोनेत्रपीडा
विपाके फलानां सदैवोपसर्गः ॥१॥
Meaning: The person who is born with Mars in the ascendant is afraid of punishment from lathi. Has fear of getting hurt from iron, and fire. He has pain in the head and eyes, and grief due to the destruction of his wife or son, etc. There is always a disturbance in mind due to the obstacles coming before the accomplishment of his work, but in taking any ventures, he is valourous like a lion.
Mars in the second house
भवेत्तस्य किं विद्यमाने कुटम्बे
धनेऽङ्गारको यस्य लब्धे धने किम् ।
यथा त्रायते मर्कट: कंठहारं
पुनः सम्मुखं को भवेद्वादभग्नः ॥२॥
Meaning: The guy who has Mars in his second house, although having riches and a family, should not bear fruit, that is, he will not be happy as a result of them. Just as a monkey guards the rosary placed in his neck by someone, regards it as a piece of valuable jewelry, similarly, he is a greedy man who does not spend his money on the needs of the family. People lose arguments with him, and no one ever faces him again.
Mars in the third house
कुतो बाहुवीर्यं कुतो बाहुलक्ष्मी
स्तृतीये न चेन्मंगलो मानवानाम् ।
सहोत्थव्यथा भण्यते केन तेषां
तपश्चर्यया चोपहास्य कथं स्यात् ॥३॥
Meaning: How can a man have the bravery of his arms and the amassing of wealth by the strength of his arms if Mars is not in the third house?
Who can convey the agony his siblings and have given him?
How can he avoid being mocked by practicing austerity? In other words, these fruits come from the Mars specialties. There is sorrow because of brothers, and how can he avoid scorn because of his austerity?
Mars in the fourth house
यदा भूसुतः संभवेत्तर्यभावे
तदा किं ग्रहाः सानुकूला जनानाम् ।
सुहृद्धर्गसौख्यं न किंचिदिचिन्त्यं
कृपावस्त्रभूमीलेभेद्भूमिपालात् ॥४॥
Meaning: What other favorable planets of man can accomplish if Mars is in the fourth place, i.e. Mars has a negative fruit. That person receives relatively little pleasure from his kinsmen, but because of the king's favor, he receives the advantage of clothes and land from the monarch.
Mars in the fifth house
कुजे पञ्चमे जाठराग्निबलीया
नजातं नु जातं निहन्त्येक एव ।
तदानीमनल्पा मतिः किल्विषेऽपि
स्वयं दुग्धवत्तप्यतेऽन्तः सदैव ॥५॥
Meaning: Whoever's Mars is in the fifth house has a very strong Jathraganni (digestive strength), and a Mars in the fifth house destroys all his born and unborn offspring, implying that he is childless. His intellect is deeply engrossed in sin and his mind always boils like milk.
Mars in the sixth house
न तिष्ठन्ति षष्ठेऽरयोऽङ्गारके वै
तदङ्गेरिताः संगरे शक्तिमन्तः ।
मनीषी सुखी मातुलेयो न तद्ध
दिलीयेत वित्तं लभेताऽपि भूरि ॥६॥
Meaning: Whose Mars is in the sixth place, his opponents in the battle flee from the terror of his soldiers because of its domination; how can they stay in front of him?
His intelligence is acute, and his maternal uncle's son does not get happiness. After a significant portion of his wealth is destroyed, a significant amount of money is gained.
Mars in the seventh house
अनुद्धारभूतेन पाणिग्रहण
प्रयाणेन वाणिज्यतो नो निवृत्तिः ।
मुहुभंगदः स्पर्धिनां मेदिनीजः
प्रहारार्दनैः सप्तमे दम्पतिघ्नः ॥७॥
Meaning: The person whose Mars is in the seventh house, in the dispute, the person has to be vanquished (defeated) repeatedly by the enemy. If Mars is placed in the seventh house of a woman then his man is destroyed and in the case of a man, his woman is destroyed. He may travel overseas for marriage or business, and will return home after a long time, he may stay overseas for a long time for the same reasons.
Mars in the eighth house
शुभास्तस्य किं खेचराः कुर्युरन्ये
विधानेऽपि चेदष्टमे भूमिसूनुः।
सखा किं न शत्रयते सत्कृतोऽपि
प्रयत्ने कृते भूयते चोपसर्गः ॥८॥
Meaning: What could other favorable planets in the destiny house accomplish for someone with Mars in the eighth house? That is, there are only bad fruits caused by Mars. His friends are hostile to him even after excellent conduct. Whatever work the person undertakes will have obstacles.
Mars in the ninth house
महोग्रा मतिर्भाग्यवित्तं महोग्रं
तपो भाग्यमो मंगलस्तं करोति ।
भवेन्नादिमः श्यालकः सोदरो वा
कुतो विक्रमस्तुच्छलाभो विपाके ॥९॥
Meaning: If Mars is in the ninth house, that individual will be endowed with money, excellent intelligence, and aggressiveness. His wife cannot have brothers elder than him or he himself doesn't have elder siblings which means either he doesn't have siblings or they may have died. By engaging in a profit-making endeavor, he should achieve a minor result, rather very little gains.
Mars in the tenth house
कुले तस्य किं मंगलं मंगलो नो
जनैर्भूयते मध्यभावे यदि स्यात् ।
स्वतः सिद्ध एवावतंसीयतेऽसौ
वराकोऽपि कण्ठीरवः किं द्वितीयः ॥१०॥
Meaning: If Mars is in the 10th house, then excellent actions can occur in that family. This means that the individual will accomplish great things that no one in their bloodline has ever done before, or that his actions will be bigger than his elders' deeds. The interpretation is that there is always good work going on in the family of someone with Mars in the tenth house. There are many servants of that person, and that person obtains a high position in the society via the riches he has amassed by his own initiative, and even though he was born into a poor family, he is valorous as a lion.
Mars in the eleventh house
कुजः पीडयेल्लाभगोऽपत्यशत्रन्
भवेत्सम्मुखो दुर्मुखोऽपि प्रतापात् ।
धनं वर्द्धते गोधनैर्वाहनैर्वा
सकृच्छून्यतार्थे च पैशुन्यभावात् ॥११॥
Meaning: If Mars is in the eleventh house, that man's son as well as his adversaries will suffer. Many people adore him because he is more powerful. Cattle and chariot commerce, as well as camel and horse-trading, should boost his riches. However, owing to his foolishness, all of his stuff will be destroyed at once.
Mars in the twelfth house
शताक्षोपि तत्सक्षतो लोहघातैः
कुजो द्वादशोऽर्थस्य नाशं करोति ।
मृषा किंवदन्तीभयं दस्युतो वा
कलि पारधीहेतुदुःखंविचिन्त्यम् ॥१२॥
Meaning: If Mars is in the twelfth house, it destroys man's wealth and is the destroyer of his foes. That individual is vulnerable to false accusations, and there is also fear of theft and weapons. Due to theft and servants, he gets grief.
